WNBA Star Angel Reese Joins Netflix Hit “The Hunting Wives” as Filming Returns to Charlotte

Netflix’s steamy thriller The Hunting Wives is back in the spotlight — and this time, a WNBA superstar is joining the drama.

Angel Reese, a forward for the Chicago Sky, has officially joined the cast of the hit Netflix series, which is currently filming its new season in the Charlotte area. According to Netflix, Reese will play a character known as “Trainer Barbie.”

Although the story is set in the fictional Texas town of Maple Brook, much of The Hunting Wives is filmed in and around Charlotte, giving local viewers plenty of familiar sights.

The Park Church
Lake Norman
Downtown Mooresville

These locations once again double for Texas settings, continuing the show’s strong connection to North Carolina.
